Graduate Students

At every stage of your degree program, you can access a continuum of academic resources designed specifically for you as a graduate student.

For your coursework and major research projects, workshops such as Time Management and Procrastination and Reading Research Papers will help you be as productive as possible while managing the many demands of a graduate program. As you present in graduate seminars, attend conferences, and begin clinical rotations, clear communication becomes a necessity. Develop this skill with the Engaging Presentations, Impromptu Presentations, and Presenting Scientific Data workshops.

Editing Service for Graduate Students and Faculty buttonWriting is another core activity for most graduate students, and the writing takes many forms. We offer workshops focusing on several of the specialized documents — from abstracts and literature reviews to theses and research proposals — that master’s and PhD students are expected to produce.  And because writing is a personal process, we’re here to offer one-on-one support as you craft texts as small as a scholarly abstract and as complex as a thesis.

That support doesn’t end when you click the “Print” button.  As your thesis, dissertation or capping project nears completion, Oral Defense of Your Dissertation will help you prepare for your final oral examination, giving you strategies to calm your jitters and impress your examiners.
